About the Book

  • Publisher: Pegasus Books
  • Genre: Tech & Business, Health & Science, Non-fiction

Andrew Kessler is going to Mars. Join him in this hilarious, off-beat and sometimes emotional account of what it’s like to be a regular guy hanging out in mission control for a NASA expedition to the Red Planet. This is non-fiction. We swear. A true-life account of the personalities and pains, exhilarating highs and crushing lows that you face in workaday mission control.

Martian Summer follows NASA’s Phoenix Mars lander, the first to visit the Martian Arctic. Its mission: dig into the surface of Mars in search a giant frozen ocean, exotic food for aliens and even strange globs of liquid water.

Kessler lives out every childhood space fantasy you ever had--before you grew up and got a real job. Not bad for a summer holiday.
