Situated just two blocks from the Capitol building, there is no more relevant place to have this important conversation.

McMillan’s critically acclaimed book documents her time undercover amid the poor of the U.S. as an employee of major chains like Walmart and Applebee’s along with the farming fields of California, McMillan exposes the exhausting and sometimes inhumane conditions food workers face and our nation’s struggle with food and class.
